Volume 62, Issue 12
Written and reported by Bill Schenk

Al "T" Tetreault led the Club in the Pledge of Allegiance while the dynamic duo of Griff Duncan and Bill Peloquin accompanied by Don Ludwig on the piano, sang "My Country 'Tis Of Thee" and smiled through "SMILE."

The Rev Leroy Fulton pinch-hit for the thought for the day. Thinking quickly on his feet he gave a short homily on Chaos and prevailing over it.

X-Prez Bill Peloquin introduced visiting Rotarians and guests which included: Ron Lacy from Orange and Dick Glaus guest Bob Radde and Mike Escalante's guest Bob Hathaway.

Jim McKamy announced a Fullerton Rotary fundraiser to eradicate Polio on Saturday, November 16 at 6:30 at the Elks Lodge. Jim announced the 7-Card Stud Tournament. Any members, guests, or card sharks interesting in eradicating polio or needing poker lessons should contact Jim, or stay tuned for future announcements.

October 23rd is the Annual Fullerton Mayor's Prayer breakfast. Contact Scott Dowd for further information.

There will be a District Foundation event in a few weeks. The date escaped this reporter's notes but Bill Peloquin will tell you, and sell you tickets too. Tickets are available for the dinner-dance, expensive prize raffle, and a money raffle.

Carl Wilkins had the right ticket but the wrong answer for Prez Mike's quiz this week. Mike's Question: Who said, "Work is the curse of the drinking class"? Carl answer was "THE KINGSTON TRIO". Carl lost the money but will have the first chance to reserve concert tickets for Feb. 7 (my oh my, Carl feels higher than a kite can fly!)

Carolyn Tormey auctioned off the October Pot-pass to Chris Fraschetti and Jo Brannock (jointly). There was a bit of confusion about how the pass will be used to protect each of them this month, but Prez Mike will make up a ruling when one is needed.

This weeks birthdays included Jo Brannock, and Chris Fraschetti who were fined proportionately (their Pot pass doesn't protect them from recognition fines).

Peg Christianson Oct. 7th Birthday was recognized as was Bill and Robin Mathyys 28-year anniversary and Winston and Christine Creel's 36th. (Don't worry Win, we won't tell her that you almost forgot!)

Carolyn threatened to fine everyone who doesn't smile the next time SMILE is sung. Forewarned is forearmed.

After a brief presentation he answered several questions posed by members of the club.

Before adjourning the meeting Prez Mike introduced a late arrival (not late enough to miss dessert, though.)) Bob McNutt, dressed in earth tones and looking like the Republican Mountain Man that he is, visited his former club.
