Volume 62, Issue 44
Rota-Scribe: Leslie McCarthy

Meeting opened by President Mike.  Flag salute well lead by Joyce Capelle followed by our own quartet plus one beauty singing "My Country"and "Smile" acapella.   Dr. Peloquin followed with a thought centered around "Service Above Self" citing the care young marines expressed in Iraq about the parents and wives of their platoon mates who were back home.  He ended with the statement about the Marines cited by a CNN reporter, "Where do they get young men like this?"

Fines, Brags, Birthdays and Anniversaries as presented by Mme. Carolyn Tormey:

Of particular note was the following birthday:  86 years - Al Triay, followed up with Jeff Hutchison, Damon Dragos, Joan Kawase, Pat Tormey and Daniel Kang.

Anniversaries - Congratulations go out to Lee Myhre & his wife for 52 years!

Keith Mills has a grandson with a winning Little League (undefeated) team.

Mike got fined for 'Feeling his Oats' and being caught on the front page of the Register.

Dr. Nate volunteered $25 so that President Mike would not tell a joke.  If we all pitched in, this could be the best fundraiser Rotary ever participated in!

 Program:

Leonard Renick - of Renick Cadillac was present to spotlight the 100th anniversary of the founding of Cadillac.  He gave us some great Renick history and local information as well.  Cadillac has begun a renaissance movement, bringing beauty and speed back into the automobile industry and it is great to see someone so enthused about the changes his company is making to enter into the new millennium.

A special thank you to Bob Sattler for getting the sound back for the club this week.

Bill Mathy sends a special thank you to all of the Rotary Club for giving him and Robyn the opportunity to travel to Australia for the RI Convention.
