President Mike Oates opened the meeting by recruiting Bill Peloquin to lead the Flag Salute.The songs of "America" and "Smile" were guided by the leadership of Griff Duncan with backup from Jim Blackburn, Bill Peloquin, Bob Savage and Jim Young. Dick Jones wrapped his Thought for the Day around patriotism and love of our country.
Guests and Visiting Rotarians
Vern Andrews was in charge of the introductions of guests and visiting Rotarians: Guests included David Silverman/Leslie McCarthy, Diane Masseth-Jones/Terri Grassi, Josh Dutra/Janie Noppe, Dave Labok and Dennis OConner/Winston Creel, and Fred Johnson/Bob Jahncke. Our perennial guest from Rotary South, Dick Boyle, honored us with his presence, again.
Announcements
Chief Pat McKinley announced that Rotarian Clubs of Fullerton sponsored the procurement of 10,000 date drug indicators that will be distributed to young women.
Scott Dowds invited members to a seminar on estate planning and trusts at Farmers and Merchants Bank on February 27. Lee Brockett will be the presenter.
Terri Grassi reminded us of the YWCA's Chocolate Fantasy at the Embassy Suites honoring Mike Oates and Carolyn Johnson on February 28.
Kathy Gach told us about the fund raising effort for the Fullerton High and Sunny Hills High Jazz Choirs to go to Carnegie Hall. CDs for sale for $10.
Bob Jahncke reported that new rosters are available. More are available next meeting.
Bill Schenk announced that time is running out for a free hearing test at the Fullerton Hearing Aid Center.
Question of the Week
Prez Mike received mucho applause when he informed us that this is the last of the dumb questions! How many dimples are on a golf ball? Believe it or not, Pat McKinley was only a few dimples off the correct answer of 336! He won $40!

Program
Scott Hedgecock introduced five very talented singers from the schools of Fullerton High and Sunny Hills High who have won Rotary sponsored vocal contests. Each student wowed us with excellent performances. In the last ten years, eight of our sponsored students have become finalists and three have been winners in their competition categories. Each vocalist received a $50 check for representing Rotary in the upcoming contests. We wish them the best of luck!
President Mike closed the meeting with these words of wisdom: Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows.
