Opening: President Bill Peloquin asked Bob Sattler to
lead us in the Pledge of
Allegiance. Mike Oates accompanied Griff Duncan, LeRoy Fulton and
Jim Young in singing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and "Smile."
Chief Pat McKinley read an inspiring piece with a patriotic tone titled "Bugs Prayer." It was written by CDR Roach - a naval aviator.
Sandy Fryling entertained us at the piano while we got ready to lunch
Guests: Claude Jones introduced Rotarians who had guests including
Jana Bogart (AI Tetreault), Wally Bartelt (Jim McKamy), David
Schoen (Brittany Berthon, Laura Neff,
and Paul Thompson), Sandy Fryling (Colleen Aldrich and Bobbi Robinson).
Visiting Rotarians were Assistant District Governor Lane Calvert, George Lowe
from Fullerton South, and Tom Ortiz from Yorba Linda Sunrise.
Rotarian of the Week: Buck Catlin was recognized for his excellent work with budgeting the various requests for charitible giving.

* July 3: In a dazzling performance, Jack Hayes announced the dedication date of the CSUF Rotary Room - 12 noon.
Question of the Week: Chief Pat McKinley correctly answered 1. Name of Billy the Kid: Wm, Bonney 2. Who shot him? Pat Garrett 3. When? 1881. Good for $50.
Program: Dr. LeRoy Fulton introduced Dr. George West who presented our program with three educators from Beijing who are here to study at Hope University. Their American names are True, May and London. The Beijing Municipal Education Commission sponsored the teachers. Included in their presentation were a Comparison of Chinese and Amercian Schools, Trends of Chinese Education, and Four Types of Education in Beijing: Basic Elementary, Vocational and Technical, Higher Education, and Adult Education. They concluded with the thought that both countries have the same goals. We don't have to copy each other but we can learn from each other.
President Bill closed the meeting with the introduction of Dick Glaus as our newest Rotarian.
