Gloomy skies and chilly breezes were blown aside by the Rotary Wheels (Ashcroft, Duncan, Fulton, Savage & Young), preceded by the pledge led by Minard Duncan. Lee Myhre's Thought for the Day recounted stories of faith and trust told at the Good Friday Breakfast (founded 35 years ago by Fullerton Rotarian Ray Hansen).
Jeff Hutchison introduced guests of Rotarians, which included Stan Pesner (Al Triay), Howard Wood (Prez Bill), Jim McKamy (Bartelt), Dr. Pat Backus (John Phelps), Dr. Linda Caillz, (Cameron McCune), Bobbi Robinson (Sandy Fryling), and familiar face and former Fullerton Rotarian Dick Boyle (Don Mlodzik).
Prez Bill presented Ray Ashcroft with his Rotarian of the Week award for last week. And also presented Jim Thompson as this week's award winner. Jim was recognized for his hard work in organizing the annual Rotary FullertonTrack meet.Jim even gave a 5-minute (maybe a 10 minute) acceptance speech and shared how Rotary has affected his life, and how telling other people about Rotary has affected others.
Buck Catlin, Tom Meyer, John Phelps, and Cameron McCune all pulled double duty on Wednesday by being Principal for a Day.Each was able to experience a day at a Fullerton School to better understand the dynamics of local education, and also to impart their experience and wisdom on faculty and students. Each exemplified to their respective schools the philosophies of Rotary (including taking a long lunch once a week).

Bill Hite introduced Damon Dragos and Jo Ann Brannock for Craft Talks.
Damon Dragos grew up a navy brat and although he enjoyed various duty station homes during his childhood, he considers Coronado Island his hometown. Damon entered Whittier College in the ROTC program and studied Music and History. After graduation he was a substitute teacher which allowed time to decide to pursue a degree in either law or medicine. However, he became a full time teacher in the Claremont School district, which led to his decision to go into administration in the Burbank School District.Last year Damon began his tenure as Principal of Sunny Hills High School. As Principal, Damon considers a great portion of his career to be community service.
