Board of Directors Meeting

Minutes for Meeting of March 11, 2003


Present: Catlin, Grassi, Kawase, Hansen, Hathaway, Savage, Kawase, Jahncke, Mathy, Meyers, Myhre, Oates, Fraschetti, Jones, and Peloquin.

Invocation by President Mike

Minutes were quicky approved with 1 minor change.

President Elect - Bill Mathy gave his report from PETS.

Thursday night through Sunday morning. Information overload. new theme “Lend a Hand” for 2003-04.

            District Assembly on Apr 12. 8:30 to 12:00.

Alan Stark is new Dist Gov. - visiting our club August 13; to meet with our club board at that time. Wants to increase membership attendance at the district functions.

            Dexter Savage will be our District Administrator.

            Polio eradication - RI wants to complete this by 2005 - the 100th anniversary.

Treasurer Report - Kawase: $36,404 in mm; $8,699 in checking; Only 20% of concert proceeds are included. We need to verify the gift by Escalante for the free us of the auditorium. Oates agreed to do.

 

Oates: We need a PR person; Articles need to be sent in to District News and Local News. Perhaps Dale Hardner and/or Kathy Blake.

Paul Thompson needs to resign / leave of absence. Jahncke to send a letter advising to resign or LOA.

Have a PR/Money Raising program. Provide free well drinks for the people wearing the promotional T-Shirts, which will sell for $25 each.

 

Buck Catlin: 65th Annual Memorial Day celebration involving for a donation of $500 by our club for a tent/canopy.

Buck presented his committee funding recommendations for donations. Requiring a Rotarian sponsor for a donation. Board approved Buck and Rick’s Committee report.

 

Membership - Bob Savage: 71.9% attendance - a new high. 135 members. 2 to be oriented; 2 New proposed: Dennis O’Conner. Approved, pending publication.

 

Fellowship - Grassi: Day at the races worked well. Baseball day tomorrow. Larsen to send the letters for fellowship dinners.

Youth - Scott Dowds: Top 100 events: March 26 & April 2; Track meet on Sat March 29.

 

International - Claud Jones: :$4,500 pledges for the electrical work. This work will be contracted soon. Hopefully to be completed in the next 45-60 days. 21 donors from our club. The next project would be work on their sewage system.

 

Vocational - Fraschetti: Senior craft talks have not been done; What is a good way to get this started.. Vocational awards - talk with Dick Hopping.

Oates: District Awards need to be submitted. Oates working to complete project.

            Concert is set for January 25, 2004.
