International Service - Jones: Trip to Mexico orphanage survey trip was made last week. Looking for a small project that we could achieve with success. About 40 kids at the orphanage. Electric system is NOT grounded. This is the most pressing issue; We could negotiate a commercial rate. A guestimate of the cost is $6,000. A pledge from the Oceanside Rotary club of $1,500 towards this. 1½ hr drive south of San Diego. 2nd project is for a sewage system, which is probable a bigger project. Frank agreed to look into how much was available. We should still have some funds left from last year. Agreed that we a least match Oceanside funding ($1,500), and possible double. A presentation to solicit funds direct from membership was planned.
2 possible future projects: A sanitation project and a new well and waterworks system.
