Board of Directors Meeting Minutes for Meeting of April 8, 2003 |
Present: Catlin, Dowds, Kawase, Hansen, Savage, Kawase, Jahncke, Myhre, Oates, Fraschetti, and Jones.
Invocation by President Mike.
Minutes were approved.
Treasurer Kawase reported we had some money left. ($4,404 in money market, $2502 in checking) after paying $32,000 to the foundation and $4,000 for the Mexico project.
President Oates showed the board the results of our awards presentation committee.
$25 in McDonald’s certificates for the Boys & Girls Club. Polio eradication T-Shirts to raise money. Person wearing the T-Shirt would be given a free “well” drink at the advertised restaurant/bar. Shirt to sell for $25.
Club Service - Membership - Savage: 67.8% attendance, 138 members (not including Strauss.) +4 net gain including Craig Walker and Diane Mathis-Jones.
Club Service - Meyers: Top100 for both schools, and the track meet all within 1 week.
Youth Service - Dowds: Music on June 6; RYLA on April 25-27; Grassi & Franklin to be RYLA team assistants.
International - Jones: Mexico contractor was very “professional”, and provided a contract and plans. Contract has been signed, and $3,500 has been paid so far for the $5,000 contract. Want to examine what is required for a sewage system in the future. Electric contractor is providing some donated labor. Perhaps run a small one day work party in Mexico to get more club participation.
Vocational - Fraschetti: Present awards before end of Mikes term.
District Assembly this weekend - April 12 - 8:30 to 12 noon.
Alan Stark is new District Governor.
Glenda Stroobant is really struggling with her polio residual problems. It was approved that she be made a Honorary Member of our club.
