Kawase, Treasurer Report: Rodriguez gave us a check for $500, $260 more than he owed. Balance of $51,863. Balance is high right now because to dues collections.

Peloquin reported that our club was #2 in the district for overall giving for Paul Harris.Jahncke presented the approval process for new members:

Upon receipt of a proposal card, the card is sent to Classifications, and simultaneously published for two weeks. At the next board meeting, the Board would tentatively approve the new proposed; given no negative reports on the individual, the invitation letter would be sent. Utilizing this parallel approach we can get a new member into the club within 3-4 weeks.

This procedure is at variance with the By-Laws. The “official” procedure calls for the Proposal card to be accepted by the Secretary, forwarded to the Classifications Chair, then approved by the Board, and then published for 2 weeks. At the conclusion of all this, a letter of invitation would be sent. This serial process would usually take 8 weeks.

The comments around the Board seemed to be in favor of the parallel approach. No Board vote was taken. Two new proposed people: Judy Noppe, Boy Scouts Administrator, by Lee Brockett, and Bob Radde, a retired manufacturing rep, by Dick Glaus. Both tentively approved.

Terri Grassi: Family Christmas Party scheduled for Dec 18; Jim McKamy is to be Santa. FUHS Singers to be entertainment for the Family Party. Parks Junior High to be entertainment for Seniors on Dec 11.

Whale watch event in January on sailing schooner, out of Long Beach, for $22 with lunch on the boat. The bus would cost about $600 for 4-5 hours. Jan 11 or Jan 25. 25th probably better for whale watching.

Savage, Club Service: Resignations: Win Miller, Greg Dyment. Down to 133 members.

Tom Meyer - received 9 applications for Concert awards. 5 selected for awards: BGC, YMCA, St. Jude, FCLO, and Assistance League.

Motion that we will give $4,000 to each of the 5, and if there is more money, the additional funds to go to these charities.

Ronnie Hewett bid us al goodbye, as he departs for his new assignment. Scott Dowds is to replace Ronnie as Director of Youth.

Claude Jones: Jay Crawford from Oceanside Rotary to be at our Wednesday meeting to discuss the Mexico orphanage project.
