Board of Directors Meeting Minutes for Meeting of June 11, 2002 |
Absent: Franklin, JonesNext Meeting July 9, 2002Minutes presented by Leroy Fulton, in the absence of Jahncke.
Treasurer - Bill Kincaid: $26,700 $6,300 in MM fund. Last year had $43,000. $98,000 donated last year. $139,000 donated this year including $33,300 for the Library. Letter from District: please forward any funds collected towards Paul Harris. Donations $12,937 has been collected and forwarded to our foundation.
Draft budget was presented. Rather than a budget, it is a guide to what we should be spending in the coming year. Looking at a $204,000 budget up from $166,000 last year, mostly due to meal cost increase. $79,000 estimated for charitable donations. Meal charge is up to $14.
Brief discussion regarding Rotagram costs. Currently at $500 per month. Postage is up 3 cents this year.
Past due members: Mickey Cheng, Brian Chun, Mitch McCullom, and David Park are all delinquent, and do not attend. Cheng $784, McCullom $402, Park $980, Chun $392,. None have donated Paul Harris or Charitable Donations. These will be sent letters with a final invoice, and removed from the roster. $13,000 in late receipts.
Net gain of 6 members for the year, even after this membership hit.District Representative - Lane Calvert: August 14 is the District Governor visitation.
Club Service, Fellowship - Terri Grassi: July 20, San Juan Capistrano; Train service to be investigated.
Family picnic to be at Craig Park; have the picnic on 16th or 23rd of August. Go from2:30 to 7:30. In order for Texas Barbecue is applying to be a Craig Park caterer.
Club Service, Membership - Bob Savage: 59.02% attendance in May. Gains and loses sent to RI. Gain of 21 for the year; net of 5 after we complete the records.
President Elect - Mike Oates: Honorary membership List for approval presented for the next year: Dalassi, Harvil, Hayes, Hutain, Mills, & Meng. Claud Sympson was suggested and approved also.
Community Service - Winston Creel: - Next year’s charity concert. Pursue the Gershwin group. This will be a repeat from Duncan’s presentation this summer. Feeling that we work a different crowd. Last Saturday in January - January 25th.
Club Service, Youth- Greg Franklin: (could not make it.) The youth concert was a success. Amount of money raised was unknown at this time.
International Service - Chris Fraschetti: Working with Claude Jones to do a transition for next year. Looking at Mexico and other project for next years. Need to work early to get a date.
Oates: No Midwestern Youth Tour this year. Presentation seal for bottom of chairs given to Ebel Club was shown.
Klimple memorial service to be held at 11am, on Saturday, June 15th at the First Lutheran Church. Suggested we sing Home on the Range in his Honor.
