Board of Directors Meeting Minutes for Meeting of April 9, 2002 |
Present: Bartelt, Franklin, Fraschetti, Grassi, Hansen, Jahncke, Jones, Kincaid, Oates, and Peloquin.
Bob Jahncke, Secretary’s Report: Minutes approved with 1 minor correction.: Donated funds for the year to be not more than $30,000. $28,500 has been forwarded to foundation.
5 prospective new members have been sent letters; 2 will go through orientation on this Wednesday; Haven't heard from the other 3 prospects as of now
Bill Kincaid, Treasurer’s Report: $29,000 in checking; Bill will be out of town next week. Meal costs are currently $8.95 + tax and tip - about $11. Motion to raise the membership cost of meals to $14 per member, $15 for a visitors and guests; effective July 1. Motion carried.
Up to $2,000 approved to purchase new chairs and tables for use at the Ebel Club / Top 100 banquet, per Jim Thompson's request. Motion carried.
Terri Grassi, Club Service, Fellowship (absent - discussion led by Bartelt): Rotary Family Picnic location: After discussion, it was felt that Craig Park would probably be the best location - however, no beer or booze is allowed. Discussion to continue with other Fullerton clubs.
Getty Museum trip set; Sign up to be processed at general meeting.
Bob Savage, Club Service, Membership: 142 members as of this date; Wood and Tetrault are to be brought in tomorrow; Char Dufresne-Dyess has resigned. (New number = 141). A list of past due members to be processed ? to dismiss delinquent / absent members.
Winston Creel, Community Service: Immunization this year; Library letter from Jim Young for District Award. Final billing for concert must be made; Project to be written up for concert.
Gregg Franklin, Youth Service: It has been terrific how supportive the members have been for the Top 100. Our Speech contest winner has won the next level (He subsequently won the District level) Eight kids are going to RYLA - April 26.
Junior High concert to be taken care of by Chris Hunt; School District is donating the use of Plummer (June 3).
Chris Fraschetti, International Service: Mexico trip has been put off for lack of participation and support. Other Mexico projects were suggested by Fulton and Jones. Possibly a clothing drive for Mexicans. Jones indicated that taking the clothes into Mexico would have to be done carefully? i.e. clothing brought down in multiple suitcases.
Claude Jones, Vocational Service: Vocational awards are under control via Dr. Hopping; Mark Zane has given good information. To work with.
