Board of Directors Meeting

Minutes for Meeting of February 12, 2002


Present: Bartelt, Creel, Franklin, Fulton, Fraschetti, Grassi, Myhre, Oates, Peloquin and Savage

Minutes: January 8, 2002 meeting minutes approved as written

Treasurer's Report: None given as Bill Kincaid was not present.

Secretary's Report: None given as Robert Jahncke was not present.

Assistant District Governor: Assist. Governor Owen Dean not present.

Director's Reports:

Terri Grassi, Club Service, Fellowship:

Fellowship Events; Foundation Dinners, sign-ups totaled 39 Rotarians and Spouses, more anticipated, Date for Getty Museum to be set sometime late April, Wine tasting trip to Temecula in late September/October and San Juan Capistrano Music under the Stars date to be determined.

DEMOTION NIGHT is July 10, 2002. President Elect Mike Oates returns from Spain, July 7th.

Bob Savage, Club Service, Membership:

January attendance was normal when compared to past years, 63.68%. Year to date 14 new members, 8 loses, total Club membership = 140. Discussion regarding RINOs and letters.

Winston Creel, Community Service General:

Concert was great success, total net revenue was $25,565.

Next year’s concert date set, January 25, 2003. Banner/Sign space above Harbor Blvd. to be reserved as soon as possible.

Committee for cabinet and plaques at the CSFU Rotary Room to be headed by Jim Young, President Bill to discuss with Jim.

Greg Franklin, Youth Service:

Area/District Speech Contest to be March 6th, four Area/District Finalist to present their speeches at Club meeting.

Top 100 Dinners, March 14th and 28th. Leslie McCarthy to head up dinners. Certificate for liability insurance to be provided to Ebell Club prior to dinners.

Rotary Track Meet, March 30th.

RYLA Camp, April 26 - 28, $250 per student, Club budgeted for 4 students, Board passed motion to use excess proceeds from the concert to provide for 4 additional students at RYLA camp.

Jr. High School Concert, June 3rd at Plummer Auditorium. Club to provide tickets, programs and cost for Plummer Auditorium.

Welcome Home party for the local members of Co. A, 184th Infantry Regiment of the National Guard at the Fullerton Armory, February 24. Club asked to provide sheet cake. Board approved request.

Chris Fraschetti, International Service:

Mexico house building trip set for April 19th, 20th and 21st. Date to be confirmed with Amore Ministries. Fullerton South interested in participating.

Discussion regarding asking RYLA members to Mexico on a day trip to help with house building. Greg Franklin to check for interest from RYLA students.

President Bill's Comments:

Sponsors need for District Conference, conference dates, May 17th - 19th.

President Bill to be out of town March 13th, Vice President Winston Creel to stand in for President Bill.

President Elect Mike:

Advertisement space in District Directory due February

Next Board meeting March 5th.
