Board of Directors Meeting Minutes for Meeting of January 8, 2001 |
Present: Bartelt, Creel, Franklin, Fulton, Fraschetti, Grassi, Hansen, Jahncke, Jones, Kincaid, Myhre, Oates, Peloquin, and Savage
Bill Kincaid, Treasurer's Report: Bill had several bills for the CSUF Library Rotary Room Fund raising - $700. Moved and 2nd to pass the bills to the Foundation. Passed - and Ray Hansen, Foundation Chair accepted the bills.
Several members have significant outstanding bills. Some haven't been attending meetings. We need to do something about the past due accounts:
Koff - $967 owed. Cheng $800 owed. Follow up by Hansen. Rodriguez $396 owed. Kemp $1025 owed. Park $588 owed. Kaisch $284. Marty may have Rodriguez home phone. Bill to call Rodriguez & Kemp.
Bob Jahncke, Secretary: Minutes accepted as presented. Orientation to be done for Hopping and Hogg this week. Invitation letters to go to McCune and Brannock.Terri Grassi, Club Service, Fellowship: Last month we sponsored the Huntington Harbor Cruise of Lights; about 35 Rotarians and Guests went for the evening. A very successful event.
Attempt to contact Morelia has been difficult. Still working on it.
Bob Savage, Club Service, Membership: Low December attendance - which is been normal for this time of the year Membership is 136 net 2 up. Walt Ziegler passed away; Art Levine moving to south county.
Winston Creel, Community Service General: Problem with tickets to resigned member Chesshire; Creel to call. Ziegler's 4 tickets are to be let go. Havent talked with Griff to know what our bottom line is today. Winston to call Bill regarding how many left to sell at District Presidents meeting.
Gregg Franklin, Youth Service: Speech contest coming up. Possibly 4 contestants. Prizes to be $100, $75 and $50 $50. Singing contest in February. Singing contest winners $100, $75, $50 & $50. Top 100 coming up March14 and 28th. Oates to get frames for certificates; Les McCarthy and Jim Thomson to get the food together.
Chris Fraschetti, Internationa Service: Re: Mexican House project: Amor Industries gave us an estimate of costs: Cost of $2400, plus the slab for $200. We need 18 to 20 people to make it work. They will require a $100 deposit. Les would like to do it the 3rd week of March. A long discussion of which weekend might work ensued - no conclusion. Suggest a query of the membership at a regular meeting to see if there is interest.
Jahncke: GSE program. We are to host 4-5 English GSE people. We need 4 homes (Rotarians) to host. These people are in their 30's. These are professional people looking to study how we do business in the US. The dates are 30-31 of May - Thursday and Friday.
Claude Jones, Vocational Service: Mark Zane is working on the Vocational Awards program.
Ed Little had a heart attack; he is doing OK.
