Board of Directors Meeting Minutes for Meeting of November 6, 2001 |
Present: Bartelt, Creel, Fraschetti, Grassi, Hansen, Jahncke, Jones, Kincaid, Mindard Duncan, Oates, Peloquin, and Savage
Absent: Franklin
Next meeting scheduled for December 11th.
Meeting called to order. Meeting was held at Hope University - 1st Floor. Blessing given by Leroy Fulton.
Minutes were approved. New wording for the CSUF Library Rotary Room proposal was approved.
Kincaid: Treasurer’s Report
$17,100 in checking; $41,200 in money market. Finances in good shape.
Terri Grassi: Club Service, Fellowship
Results of survey produced 2 top choices: A trip to the Getty, via bus for approximately $15 per person, and an evening trip to Mission San Juan Capistrano for dinner and music at approximately $50 per person.
Bob Savage: Club Service, Membership:
The club attendance was up slightly at 66.55 % for the month. List of meetings missed by members was passed around. Our current membership is 139, a new high. Discussion of sending letters to the missing members - Peloquin, Oates and Savage to meet to work out letter.
New Members - 3 Proposed members:
Chris Meyer, City Manager, Richard Hopping, retired Optometry College President, and James Hogg, a visiting professor at CSUF. All were approved for further processing. Chris Meyer has been published, and a invitation letter can go out immediately.
Winston Creel: Community Service General:
Winston presented a budget for the January Concert. Ray Hansen had sold 69 tickets so far, and plans to sell more. Tickets will be on sale at the meeting this Wednesday, November 7.
Atwell is in charge of the Senior Christmas Party. He reports all is in place.
Greg Franklin:Youth Service:In Greg’s absence, Mike Oates reported that the 2 dates for the Top 100 this year are set for March 14 and March 28 (Thursday). Les McCarthy and Jim Thompson seem to be taking charge; the school district will take care of sending letters to the students and producing the program.
Chris Fraschetti: International Service:Difficulty making contact with Jeff Hutchison re: Mexico house.
Hansen will co-char for the balance of the Year with Bob Bean for Foundation PHF work..
Discussion of having a Foundation Lunch, with the program to feature a District spokesperson - to discuss RI, and how the PHF Funds are used. Herb Trumbolt was suggested by Bill Peloquin.
Claud Jones: Community Service General:
Fellowship Dinners are in process.
The Jim Young / CSUF Library Rotary Room Fund Raising Cruise is scheduled for this up-coming Sunday. There are 4 openings available.
New Business:Minard Duncan brought up the need for $200 to help in the Dental screening program to take place at Richman School this month. After brief discussion, the funding was approved.
Pres Bill commented that the annual inoculation clinic we had put on for the past several years will not be taking place this year. Apparently there is no need according to the funding source.
The International Assembly will be held in Anaheim again this year - January 28 - February 4. There is a call for Hosting of the District Governor Elect’s
Pres Bill has been receiving a lot of mail regarding the Reading by Nine program. We need a person to follow this project. It was suggested that Dick Matthewson might be able to do this, especially since this project seems to fit well in his current project list.
