Volume 70, Issue 25 Rota-Scribe: Joyce Capelle

As Rotarians and guests gathered, we were provided with wonderful musical accompaniment by our own Theresa Harvey on bassoon and Dr Sophie Lee from Arborland Montessori on flute.

As the adults self-served at the buffet, our youngest guests were served at their table.

Promptly at 12:30PM, President J called the meeting to order. Esteemed Mayor Pro Tem Don Bankhead provided our invocation, the Prayer of St. Francis. In keeping with the spirit of the season, it is printed here in its entirety:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

We all enjoyed the Dancers

Recognition Master Leslie McCarthy, along with her assistant Santa Claus, recognized Jim Young, Dan Kiernan, and President J. Each had the opportunity of sitting on Santa’s lap for the occasion. Santa (aka Bob Clark) then fulfilled his role, assisted by “elf” Zoot Velasco, and distributed gifts to our young guests.

"Have you been a good boy!"

Jim Young recited a Christmas poem, especially prepared for the occasion.

President J closed by thanking all who contributed to the success of our family holiday party and by wishing all a happy holiday.

Good Job, J!!!!
