Volume 68, Issue 49 Rota-Scribe: Leslie McCarthy

The last “Official” meeting lead by the “Ex-Official” Police Chief, President Patrick McKinley, was opened with “Official” police patches and mugs to his wonderful Board of Directors.   Leroy Fulton thanked God for the beautiful place to celebrate this last day of President Pat’s leadership and when heckled from the crowd asked Him to please return Dr. Ken Kaisch to Nome, Alaska forthwith as they missed him so much up there.  Leroy then lead us in “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” to honor outgoing President Pat and “Smile” for all of us celebrating his wonderful year of leadership.

Visitors:

Bill Peloquin was overwhelmed with wonderful guests from the YMCA!  Dan Ouweleen introduced us to his son Tim who gives wonderful tours of the Y if you are interested.  Vern Andrews presented Mark Jabloski who is on the Board for the Y and Clare McKenna introduced us to Chris Robinson, Kim Liebert and Amy Gray who helped make the meeting great.  She also introduced us to her Mom, Mary Alice McKenna, without whom we would not have such a great Executive Director.  Finally, Mike Oates brought his latest Paul Harris Fellow, Jamison Oates and soon to be inducted as the youngest Paul Harris, Riley Oates, members of the Y family.  And, I had the great pleasure of introducing you all to my daughter Meghan and niece Lauren McCarthy who are the newest graduates of Troy High School. Welcome all!

Announcements:

  • Bill Peloquin was able to announce awards given at the District Demotion Night last week.  Honored were Bill, Jim Young, and Walt Barnes.  They ransomed the banner patch to President Pat for an “Official” Fullerton police shoulder patch and contrary to his stance when he was our Chief of Police, he did negotiate with the kidnappers of the banner patch.
  • Tom Meyer announced the countdown of 7 days until we impeach (oops, I think that is supposed to be gracefully demote) President Pat.  Please get your names on the list and if you are not planning on attending, let him know as well so that he doesn’t have to chase you down.  You may email him at tmeyer@fullertoncb.com with your reservation.

Program:

A wonderful program and grounds tours were provided by the YMCA.  Many of our members had direct impact on what we saw today.  Great thanks goes out from the Y Board and employees to Rick Price, Bernie Dunlap, Chris Meyer, Rick Crane, Vern Andrews, Jeff Hutchison, John Phelps and many more….

In closing his final meeting, President Pat had these sage words of advice to the married men of our club, “Be happy or be right, your choice.”  Have a great week!
