CALL TO ORDER: President Patrick (old grumpy retired chief of police) McKinley at precisely 12:30.01pm First order of business was the sucking up to Dr. Les (yes I still have the tickets) Christensen by our President Pat (I love going to USC games with Les) McKinley who presented the MOST COVETED Fullerton Police Shoulder Patch and coffee mug. I for one hope it helps Pat achieve his goal! FLAG SALUTE: Bob Hathaway led our pledge to the greatest flag in the world INVOCATION: Retired Hall of Fame Coach Maryalyce Jeremiah prayed over us for more thankfulness and gratefulness. As the microphone was causing some interference she also asked for less irritability and also recognized our club and Rotary as a whole for all the good that goes on as a result of “Service above Self”. SING A SONG: Leroy Fulton convinced us to sing I’ve been workin in the kitchen to the famous tune of I’ve been workin on the railroad in honor of all the great work Leslie Mc Carthy did at the Top 100 banquets. We then wrapped it up with SMILE… INDUCTION: President Pat called Jim (I am Paul Harris) Young to the podium along with Ray Hansen and Dr. Dick Jones to introduce our newest member of THE Rotary Club of Fullerton, Louis Kuntz. Louis is a 40 year resident very familiar with “Service Above Self”. I am sure all of us can’t wait for his craft talk to hear more about his play with Vern Andrews on the ball field. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: John (who we haven’t seen and could be a guest too) West was in charge of our introductions. Dick Jones introduced Derrick Johnson who the good doctor has known since pre birth! Coach Maryalyce Jeremiah introduced her best and long time friend and I think her first basketball coach Dr. June Kearney. Jim Young introduced his guest Ron Kirk out from ANNOUNCEMENTS: Mr. Randy (I carry a fishing net) Mc Farland carried on as the Town Crier. He was a Crier without a list so the crowd began to gather on his right thereby causing him to pass on the microphone. Mayor Don Bankhead was assessed $2 for recognizing Buck at the event and getting Press in addition. Jim Williams and his travel partner, Dan Kiernan were fined as their picture was in the paper, $5.
