Prez Pat rang the bell and promptly presented a coveted Patch and Mug to Jim Thompson and Leslie McCarthy for taking a break long enough from their Top 100 chores to come and have lunch today.  After a quick bite, they were both back to the Ebell club to continue preparations Wednesday nights dinner.

Prez Elect Jeff Hutchison led the flag salute and Nate Kvetny gave the invocation that included prayers for country, Rotary and our Meal.

Griff Duncan led the songs today for Leroy Fulton who was on a secret mission to the Southern States for Hope International UniversityGriff led us in American the Beautiful and Smile, accompanied by Don Ludwig on the piano.

Prez Pat introduced visiting Rotarians Ron “Razer” Gillett from Fullerton Sunrise.  Brigit Schmidt was a guest of Irene Lang, and Louis Kuntz was a guest of Dick Jones.

There will be an off-site meeting at the YMCA at 200 Youth Way, in Fullerton with a program presented by Rick Crane and Clare McKenna.  Collette’s will cook a BBQ Buffet.

June 17th at the Muck will have a celebration welcome shower for the two new additions to the Zoot Velasco family at 5:30.  There will be a big band concert at 7:00 PM Tickets are $10 in advance.  Call Zoot.

Past Prez Tom Meyer announced that there are only four weeks left until the Demotion extravaganza to be held at the Meridian.

Don Ludwig set our minds at ease about the billing for the very successful Rotary concert. The bill will be included in next quarter’s statement.  Proceeds from the concert funded Fullerton Rotary donations to the YMCA, Arboretum, Fullerton Union High School, and FIES, among others.

Marty Burbank handled Recognitions and he fined Jim Young on his 88th birthday; and John Phelps for Kerry’s Birthday.  Buck Catlin was recognized for his participation in Loma Vista’s 71st Memorial Day commemoration.  Wally Swatkowski was recognized for presenting the Fullerton Rotary Wreath at the ceremony.

Anthony Guinn had the ticket but not the answer to these weeks’ trivia questions.

This years RYLA participants joined us for lunch today and made brief comments and thank-you’s for our sponsorship at the recent RYLA camp.

Today was the 2009/10 Club Assembly and Prez-elect Jeff introduced his Board of Directors and they in turn introduced their committee chairpersons.  Jeff gave a brief summary of what he expects his year to be like and used next years Rotary RI theme “The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands” liberally in his remarks.
