Prez Terri struck the bell at 12:30 and asked for a volunteer
and Past-president Wally Bartelt sprang to the front of the room and
officiated the Pledge.
Howard Wood led the club in a mournful and ac’pella version of Beautiful Dreamer,
followed by the more upbeat Fullerton Rotary Club theme song, “Smile”.

Awards
Walt Barnes (dressed in his finest Hawaiian Punch duds) made presentations
to John Phelps for induction into the “Paul Harris Society” for continuous
contributions to the Rotary Foundation, and to Jim Blake for being a Major
Donor ($10,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation).
President Terri exhibited a banner that Fullerton Rotary was awarded recently
for being the 3rd in our district for charitable giving.

Announcements
• It was announced that next week’s program will be Gordon
Dillow of the Orange
County Register.
•March 24 is the annual Fullerton Rotary Track Meet to be held at Troy High School.
•Volunteers are need between the hours of 8 AM to 2 PM. (lunch will be
served!).
•Randy McFarland showed a “MVP” award that he received the 1969 Fullerton
Rotary Track Meet. (Maybe he will defend his long-lasted school record
in the 2-mile
cross-country event!) •Jim Williams chanted “Share Rotary, Pass it On” in either Japanese of Spanish—Frank
Kawase interpreted.
•Tom Meyer announced the District Assembly (also on
March 24th) new Rotarian and newly elected Board
members should plan on attending (Call Tom). This
is also a District event that newest nine members
and use to fulfill their NN commitment.
•April 21 is a Fellowship Wine tasting event at Bob Clark Jr.’s home. Stay tuned for more details.
Program committee meets next Thursday at 7:30 AM at Carrows.
•Phil Silverman was in charge of recognitions and
recognized Walt Barnes more wearing Cabana Wear to a winter Rotary
meeting. Ken Kaisch was recognized for bringing the most guests
to the meeting. Drew Napolin was recognized for his up-coming birthday.

• Bill Mathy failed to pick one of two jokers out of Prez
Terri’s dwindling
deck of cards. (this prize is worth $165 next week!)
Program:
Fullerton General Plan
Today’s program was presented by Robin
Sinclair from Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to ending substandard housing and building
homes in partnership with qualified low-income families in need.
Since 1988 122 homes have been built in Orange County and enough land has been
secured to build 87 more. Robin talked about the history of HFH and how we can
all become involved.
