Program: Fullerton General Plan
• City manager, Chris Meyer, introduced
• City staff: Joel Rasen to discuss city general plan
• Fullerton population is 136,000- seventh largest in Orange County
• General plan is conducted every 10 years
• It became the blue print for growth in last update in 1996
• General plan sets goals and objectives for city of Fullerton to be met
• General plan describes goals and visions for long range planning.
• There is a land use element, circulation element, resource element, health and safety element and community services element.
• Plan also requires regional coordination
• It is a six step process
• Public participation is vital everyone should get involved in workshops and open houses will be available.
