Nate Kvetney led the pledge of aleigence before Songmaster Howard Wood introduced guest pianist Mike Oates who accompanied the choir in singing the version of “America” which starts of “My Country ‘Tis of  Thee”, followed by “Smile”.

 Scott Dowds gave a touching and heartfelt invocation for today’s meeting.

Ray Hansen found no visiting Rotarians but find Diane Masseth-Jones who introduced her guests, Nina Visconti and Britain Rome.  Cameron McCune also introduced two guests Kathy Ihola and Jackie Pearce.

Announcements:  included Fred Johnson still has some space at the upcoming Boys & Girls Club Brunch at La Vie en Rose.

Jim McKamy announced Hospitality Night on Friday May 5th at the district convention in Orange.

Kathy Allred announced the Group Studies Exchange people will be in town this week-end and at our regular club meeting next week.  She invited all club members to join them in trips to the Getty Museum, Disneyland and California Adventures. There will also be a pot luck dinner hosted buy Walt and Adrianne Barnes. Call Kathy for more info.

Minard Duncan passed out notices for a Wine Tasting event to benefit Fullerton Excellence in Education Foundation.

Prez-elect Terri Grassi announced the May 1st is the first deadline to place an advertisement in the District Directory.

Mike Oates announced that the Theme of this year Night in Fullerton event will be celebration Fullerton’s three Sister-Cities. Each city will have a performance or an exhibited.

Recognitions:  The Old Man and the Sea (better known as Dick Daybell) arrived in time to levy fines to several members that included: Lonnie Blake for his 61st birthday; Patricia Frank for her anniversary; Greg Hickman on his wife’s birthday.   Mark Zane on Sharon’s birthday, and Bill Schenk for Cathy’s birthday and their anniversary as well.

Those recognized were given a chance to mitigate their finds by testing there knowledge of salt water fishing.

The Old Man made a special presentation to Randy McFarland for Community Service and awarded Randy a stuff fish as well as a cue for another McFarland one-liner.

Fred Johnson won the raffle and demonstrated his keen ability of total recall by identifying the nationality of the Group Study Exchange folks. (France)

Program:

Prez Joyce introduced Kim Hubbard of the Financial Abuse Service Teem (FACE).  Kim is an attorney and gave a riveting presentation of Identity Theft that gave all present cause for concern. 17 million people had their identity stolen last year. There is no guarantee of protection but there are cautions to take to minimize the possibility and a procedure to limit your responsibility and lesson your exposure.
