Volume 65, Issue 30 Rota-Scribe: Bill Schenk

Acting Prez Jim McKamy (who, due to his size and demeanor received absolute respect during the meeting today) appointed Bob Radde to lead the pledge of allegiance and John Derry to give an invocation.

Bill Hite introduced visitors that included a table of Dick Mathewson guests (wife Jane,  son Fred and Dr. Fred Lathrop); Diane Jones ( Grace Kim from the YWCA breast cancer screening program); Leroy Fulton (Michael Cox); Don Bankhead (Paul Simons); J Ritchey (Rev. Greg Hickman); Buck Catlin ( grandson Brandon Clyde).

Announcements:

Rick Crane reminded the club to submit community investment award applications in a timely fashion.

It was announced that John Phelps and Harry Brown are in the Hospital.

Nate Kvetny, PHD (prestidigitation, humor and delight) was the guest Finemaster today.  Nate needed to be reintroduced to the club after spending a year in necktie rehab.  This day he appeared relaxed tie-less and in good form.  He recognized Bill Kincaid for his 79th birthday; Mike Oates for his anniversary, Lee Brockett for Marion’s birthday (and for celebrating his cessation of practicing Law.), and Mark Geiss on his 57th Birthday.  Nate also recognized himself for his recent 35th wedding anniversary.  Griff Duncan was recognized for an appearance in Stage Magazine and Bill Mathy was recognized for 21 years in business.

Proposed new Rotarian: Pastor Gregory Hickman, Pastor at Christian Life Center by J Richey. Greg is a former Rotarian from the East

Recognitions (continued)

Walt Barnes was recognized and as always, was thankful for any recognition he can get.  Dr. Kvetny (and lovely assistant Prez-elect Terri Grassi) amazed the crowd with several magic tricks that boggled the mind.

Raffle:

Fred Johnson had the lucky ticket but let someone feed him the wrong answer and missed the raffle pay-off.

Program:

Bob Jahncke gave the club a guided tour of the Fullerton Rotary Club District award winning website.  Bob discussed the obvious benefits of using this page as well as provided some insight on what the sight can offer that weren’t so obvious.  Bob thinks everyone should spend a little time on the sight and explore its possibilities as well as let him know if there is anything we would like the site to do and he’ll try to figure out how to do it.  Bob puts many hours in to create and maintain our site and he considers it a labor of love.

(Good thing for us!)
