This was our first meeting at our new location at Hope International University. David Schoen led the Flag Salute.

Announcements:

Bob Savage: Thanked Griff Duncan for emceeing the Concert held on Saturday, January 29th.

Foundation Dinner held on March 26th. $55 for Dinner. Opportunity Drawings at $10/ticket or $125 for 15.

Wally Bartelt: Hosts are needed for visiting Rotary Governors for the evening of Wednesday, February 23rd.

Rick Crane: Tickets still available for Rotary Fellowship at CSUF Women's Basketball Game on Monday, February 7th.

Buck Catlin: Community Investment Award applications are due by February 21st.

Randy McFarland: Event Description Forms are due. If you chaired an event this past year, you should have received this form from your Director. Please complete this form and submit so our club will get credit.

Jim Blake: Tulane University Green Wave is ranked 1st in Pre-Season Baseball polls. CSUF Titans are ranked 3rd.

Fined Howard Wood, Bob Engemann, Buck Catlin, Dick Jones, and Bob Savage for pictures taken at Saturday's Charity Concert.

Fined Tom Meyer, an alumnus from University of Illinois, for the Illini's fine basketball performance (so far) with a 22-0 record.

Lee Brockett-Spousal Birthday on 2/8.

Carl Camp-Spousal Birthday on 2/8 and Daughter's Birthday 2/2.

Ray Hansen was the raffle winner and he remembered the "Big Bopper's Wedding" as his second smash hit.

Diane Masseth-Jones introduced the contestants for the Speech Contest. The theme was "Celebrating Rotary". Two students each from Fullerton High School (Regan Fallon & Krystyn Gonzales) and Sunny Hills High School (Grace Park & Eugenia Rho) participated.

Each contestant had five minutes to give their speech. Mike Nomura, Randy McFarland, and Bill Schenk were judges and Jack Hayes was the timekeeper. After a long drawn out evaluation period (longer than the NFL instant replay review), Eugenia Rho was deemed the winner with Krystyn Gonzales placing second.
