Paul Dudley, Jack Hayes, Singers Howard Wood, Jim Young, Leroy Fulton, Bill Peloquin and Ray Ashcroft helped Prez Bob to open the meeting today. Scott Dowds introduced today’s guest that included: Dan Fink, Bob Osborne and April Wakeman (Dick Daybell); Dick Cote (Ron Soderquist); Rose Benalcaza, EncoPlus Program manager for the YWCA (Diane Masseth Jones), Mike White (Frank Kawase).Prez Bob awarded a club banner to the only visiting Rotarian present; Evangeline “Vancie” Mole` from Baguio Sunrise, The Philippines. Prez Bob announced that Gordon Bagne and Dick Glaus have been hospitalized recently. The late Dr. Jack Warner was recently recognized in the Orange County Register as one of the Orange County residents that left a legacy in 2004. Dr. Jack was famous for offering innovative alternative treatments for children with Down syndrome. This Friday is the Poker Night benefiting Polio Plus at the Ebell club, Contact Jim McKamy for last minute reservations ($40 per person). Fullerton Tri-Rotary clubs will sponsor a FUN NIGHT on January 22 at the CSUF Recreation Center from 6 to 10 PM Costs is 25 per person that includes a friendly club team competition (NO BASEBALL). Rick Crane announced a Fullerton Rotary Club night at CSUF Women’s Basketball on Monday Feb. 7Al “T” (not to be confused will the original Al “T” Triay) invited all interested members to attend his “Program Committee” meeting on Jan 13 at 7:30 AM at Carrows Griff Duncan put out an all points bulletin on Winston Creel. Winston still has some good seats left for the Rotary Concert on Jan. 29th Minard Duncan Reports the FIES is looking for a new executive director. Diane Masseth-Jones announced the availability of a new multi-purpose room for Community use at the YWCA. Dick Daybell assumed the role of Finemaster and recognized Paul Dudley for his 58th Birthday (Dick doesn’t award the senior discount to anyone younger than he is). Tony Amato was belatedly reminded of his wife Vivian’s birthday. Allyn Lean won the raffle but had no idea how old the Parrot was and received a 10$ consolation price provided by Ken Kaisch. Today’s program was arranged by Dick Daybell and was presented by representatives of the United Anglers of Southern California who mission it is to support the management of marine resources in order to pass the sport of fishing on to our future generations. |
