Special PROGRAM OF "RAGTIME" PIANO

Annie Mezzapappa sings while Eric "Glide" Marchase plays "Ragtime"

Bill Klinghoffer introduced pianist Eric "Glide" Marchase and his mezzo soporano Annie Mezzapappa who did the original opening number "Fullerton Glide". They are part of the local "Friends of Jazz" club which sponsors young musicians in this musical art form.

Then piano wizard Eric captivated us with three numbers which earned a sustained applause from the then-mello Rotarians. (Irish whiskey helps!). Clearly a Rotary program for the books!

"Kansas city Blues"; Scott Joplin's classic, "Entertainer"; and closed with "Maple Leaf Blues"

Past Prez Bill Peloquin closed the program with a poem dedicated to our Armed Service men and women written by a service man in Okinawa. It paraphrased the "The Night Before Christmas" classic highlighting the ancient and current similarities.

With a hearty "HAPPY NEW YEAR" Prez Savage executed the "FOXTROT--CHARLIE--DELTA " signal, the Rotarians assembled set down their flagons and all went back to reality.

"Well done, Bob!"
