President Bill Peloquin led us in the Pledge. With the western themed program on the agenda (so beautifully and patriotically displayed by President-Elect Oates), Griff Duncan and his musical posse (Jim Young, Leroy Fulton and Prez Bill) led us in Home on the Rangee and Smile. The Thought For the Day was delivered by Ken Kaisch reminding us that the most important things are invisible to the eye such as freedom and integrity. Followed by an Americana medley by piano-master Mike Oates.

Visiting Rotarians and Guests introduced by Debra Koff, Chris Meyer, interim city manager, guest of Paul Dudley; Paul Simon, chair of the planning commission, guest of Rick Crane.

President Bill named Debra Koff, our new Care and Comfort chair, Rotarian of the Week.

Bill Hite was unable to answer the opportunity drawing question, What is the largest lake in the world? Where is it? And how big? The answer was the Caspian Sea.

Good Rotary turnout at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

A reminder to make sure you get checked in at the beginning of the meeting and to sign yourself in if you come into the meeting late.

Thanks to Franki Berry for the magnetic flags that were distributed at the meeting.

Fulfilling a long-time wish, President Bill stepped into Recognition Chair Jim Blackburn's shoes for the day. He recognized Dean and Verlaine Heiser's 25-year anniversary. Birthdays for Chris Fraschetti (and 4 year anniversary with Bob), David Schoen (60), Bob Engemann (80!), Winston Creel (58) and a spousal bday for Leroy Fulton. Minard Duncan was recognized for a photo of his participation in the Crop Walk.

The Program was presented by former Superior Court Judge James R. Ross, great grandson of Jesse James. Judge Ross shared stories of his childhood and demonstrated how oral history played a big part in his ancestorss legacy. He also detailed the various attempts of imposters to capitalize on Jesse James. While he doesn't feel that any of the films that have been made of Jesse have been good or accurate, he is working to bring the true story to film. He encouraged us all to share our histories with our families.
