Volume 64, Issue 45 Rota-Scribe: Bill Schenk

Today’s meeting was held at Grace Ministries International and was called to order by Prez Bob at approximately 12:10 when he led those assembled in the pledge of allegiance. An accapel’la version of My Country ‘tis of Thee/ Smile was conducted by Randy McFarland and led by Bill Peloquin, Howard Wood, and Bob Savage.

In keeping with our Korean hosts hospitality Fullerton Sister City President Mi Goats delivered the thought for the day, which so eloquently illustrated the spirit of cultural riches that we as Fullertonians and Rotarians enjoy.

Allyn Lean introduced Rotarians with guest that included Rick Crane/ Theresa Harvey, Randy McFarland/ Sheryl Morenze, Bill Peloquin/ Wilma, Ray Ashcroft/Mary Ruth, Our host Pastor Shine introduced the senior Pastor as well as several associate Pastors of Grace Ministries and also a cadre of lady volunteers who had prepared a variable feast fit for all tastes in the GMI foyer.

Upcoming Programs:
June 8: St. Jude - Ray Hansen.
June 15: Counter Terrorism - Pat McKinley
June 22: History of Music - Fred Johnson
June 29: Demotion Night at Sheraton 4 Points

Announcements:

Prez Bob announced the immediate deadline for ad copy for the District Directory. The proceeds of this directory go to fund the District Governorship of next years DG Bill Peloquin!

Bill Peloquin used the excuse of polling the membership for Rotary International Convention attendees to tell a lame joke. His efforts were immediately judged to be about a 6½ out of a possible 100. (Better luck next time Governor elect Bill)

Bill Mathy announced that in just four short weeks the usual lunch meeting would be dark in liu of the Wednesday evening Demotion night festivities. $40 dollar tickets will be hawked beginning next week.

Jim Blake gave an impromptu thought of the day entitled “Enjoy it while you can”, of course he was diplomatically referring to the current NCAA baseball polls which list Tulane as Numero Uno and CAL STATE FULLERTON at number four (with a bullet).

In order to allow for a presentation by GMI followed by a tour of the facilities, our scheduled Senior Craft Talk by Capt. Buck Catlin, USN-Retired will be rescheduled for another day. Buck’s only comment was as usual “Beat Army”.
