Chuck Munson led the club in the Pledge followed by another accapel’la version of God Bless America and Take Me Out to the Ball Game (to commemorate the Super Regional NCAA baseball tournament hosted by Cal State Fullerton. Leroy Fulton, Howard Wood, Randy McFarland, and Bob Savage ably led the singing.

Jim Lapak delivered the thought for the day message with a homily about the child’s perception of their parents.

Sergeant of Arms Jim McKamy unfurled the new District Governor flag denoting DG Bill Peloquin, which will be proudly displayed by our club during Bill’s tenure as DG.

Tony Amato dazzled the club with his stage presence as he introduced visiting Rotarians that included Susan Smith from La Habra Rotary (St Jude Foundation) and Ron Newell from Fullerton South.

Thank You's

Thank you letters were received from Fullerton High School and Sunny Hills High School regarding the Top 100 banquets. Letters were also received from the Assistance League of Fullerton and Fullerton Heritage thanking the club for their community service donation.

There will be a Fullerton Rotary Club Board meeting at the city yard on Tuesday at 7:30 AM (newest nine are always invited).

President Bob announced Rotarian of the Week honors go to Bob Foust for his heavy involvement with the recent successful Rotary Sponsored Jr. High School concert.

“Have it Your Way Bill” Mathy is taking dinner orders and reservations for the rapidly approaching demotion night to be held at the Sheridan Four-Points hotel on June 29. Just tell him how you want your food cooked and he’ll really hustle to make your dining experience memorable.

The usual theatrics are promised from the Fullerton Rotary Our Gang Players.

Recognitions:

Dick Daybell recognized Bill Mathy, and Don Bankhead for recent newspaper articles. President Bob was recognized for his recent 5lb. 9-oz rainbow trout catch (not sure if he released it, ate it, or mounted it!).

Frank Kawase, Al Triay, and Dick Daybell were recognized for spousal birthdays. Bill Klinghoffer was recognized for his 71st Birthday. Drew Napolin was recognized for his 22nd anniversary, and Lee Myhre was recognized for his 54th Anniversary!

Howard Wood (those memory lessons really helped) won the raffle and remembered that Cuba was the country that was removed from the Organization of American States in 1962.

Ray Hansen introduced Dr. Dennis Buchanan who delivered a program on the new additions to St. Jude Hospital that includes a 106,144 square foot southwest tower under construction very soon.
