Senior Christmas Party at the Ebell Club Prior to the program, everyone enjoyed musical entertainment which Bob Radde invited. Carolers dressed in Victorian era costumes, Dana Barry (Bob Radde’s granddaughter) , Shelly Doolittle and Emi Miller, serenaded us accompanied by OC Brass members. Prez. Tom Meyer welcomed everyone and announced that Minard Duncan was the guest of honor last night in recognition of his 50 years of service for the local elementary schools. Also he announced that Al Triay has passed away and that his memorial service will be next Wednesday December 19 at 11AM at St Andrews Church. Mark McGee, organizer of the Senior Christmas Party, welcomed our guests, residents of Gordon Lane, Evergreen, Acacia Villa and Cambridge and Randy McFarland led us in the pledge with Greg Hickman doing the invocation. We had 58 Seniors join us this year and the same number of Rotarians hosting. Food was efficiently served to our guests by the Rotarians (and their significant others) as music played. Santa (Jim McKamy) made an appearance and posed with each resident for a photo snapped by Dan Kiernan and printed by Bob Jahncke. |
Entertainment during the program was provided by Parks Junior High School vocal choir (Led by Melissa Martinez) and the bell choir (Led by Carla Turner). Special thanks go to John Phelps for donating the gifts given to each guest and to Julianne Haynes for putting the gift bags together. Bus transportation was provided by the Fullerton High School District, arranged by George Giokaris. Early bird helpers- Vern Andrews, Bob Radde, Minard Duncan Pete MaGoski, Dick Daybell, Howard Wood, Jay Kremer, Ray Hansen, Dick Glaus and J Richey. Kitchen help- Diane Masseth-Jones, Theresa Harvey, Leslie McCarthy, Jana Bogart,. Other helpers were Robin Mathy, Gloria Radde, Nina Visconti, Lee Birtchfield. If I missed anyone, my apologies! After the program, Rotarians escorted the senior guests out to the awaiting busses! Everything went very well this year! Congrats Mark McGee and everyone who helped! Reminders:
