Late Development: The Family Christmas Party will be an Evening affair on December 17th. Mark Your Calendar. More Details Later.
This meeting was begun by Jim Ritchey leading the Pledge. It seemed to this reporter that the troops were in stronger voice more perhaps in response since yesterday was VETERANS DAY. The choral sextet of Grif Duncan, Jim Blackburn, Howard Wood, Bill Peloquin, Leroy Fulton and Jim Young was in Patriotic timbre for "God Bless America" and "Smiles". >Howard Wood in his "Thought for the Day" drew on a parallel about a child's view of the "Seven Wonders of the World" when asked by her teacher to select her choice for the greatest of the seven... The child demurred. After reflection, She listed her Wonders as "to taste, to touch, to see and to hear" -- and after a pause, added, to run, to laugh and to love". Wise Thoughts, Howard. Rotarian-Fullerton City Manager Chris Meyer called out the GUESTS AND VISITORS VISITORS: Dexter Savage, Walt Johnson Dick Boyle from Fullerton South; Walter Barnes from KAUAI, "The Garden Isle" GUESTS: Gordon Haage, guest of Grif Duncan PDG Jim Young, just returned from a "Paul Harris" Performance at the Brazoria, Texas ROTARY with $500 for the Foundation. (A weekend trek to a town 150 miles South of Houston in the cause of Rotary is indeed above and beyond the call of duty. Many thanks, Jim, from all Club Members.!) Bob Jahncke delivers the new 2004 Rotary Club of Fullerton Roster. TAKE JUST ONE! Many thanks, Bob. Bob Hathaway, in his traditional red vest sweater, (Bill Mcgarvey, you've been "upstaged"!) was defrocked as a member of the Newest Nine. ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK: Verne Andrews, for faithful work in putting up signs where needed at Rotary functions.

Tony Lagomarsino recognized the BIRTHDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES and VITAL STATISTICS of the Month: Kathy-Allred Blake, in proxy for husband, Jim, attested he is 73. Greg Franklin and Debbie will be celebrating their anniversary at the USC/UCLA football game. No comments on who favors whom. Jim Williams, displayed the colors of a turn coat by wearing a jacket with TROY HIGH SCHOOL in front and FULLERTON UNION HIGH SCHOOL on the back. (He's actually an Indian graduate.) Something about split loyalty or "payback" here? RAFFLE: Dick Glaus won with # 0489. Prez Mathy posed an impossible question about the origin of the Chinese Blackberry. DICK protested, and gave the proper answer to "What is the color of the aircraft instrumentation "Black Box" recorder. Answer: --- .-. .- -. --. . (Thatts not SOS!!!) THE PROGRAM MATT SARIK, a friend of Bob Sattler and FBI agent who specializes in Behavior Analysis in solving bizarre crimes of rapes, sexual, murder, serial killings and the like gave us a vivid picture of this human behavior. A psychologist and law enforcement by education and training pointed out the differences between Law Enforcement and Clinical perspectives in solving a case. He uses the "victimology" approach which tries to cover the history of a crime as opposed to locating a culprit. "What is going on here?" is the approach. Much attention is given to the "risk level" experienced by a victim in finding on the reasons and path of a crime. The terms "M.O." (Mode of Operation"), "RITUALIZING", "SERIALIZING",and "STAGING" characterize the field. There is a great difference in what appears on TV sitcoms and the field of Behavior analysis. Excellent program. Pres Mathy came up with a winner joke about a lady reading a book in a boat and her response when a Game Warden Officer accosted her. . Well received. Our Prez is maturing on the humor aspects of the job. |
