Larry Larson was honored as Rotarian of the Week for his fellowship dinner efforts.
Dick Rocke let us know that Colby Tillitson is the new President of the Rotoract Club at Cal State Fullerton, Linda Heichman is the Club Adviser at Cal State Fullerton. This newly formed group is anxious to promote the ideals of Rotary within CSUF,

Prospective New Member: David Silverman, Causalty Insurance, by Leslie Mc Carthy.

Nate Kvetny brought his box of tricks for recognition time featuring John Kunau, Jack Hayes, Terri Grassiand Franki Berry in antics that involved John's ersatz shorts and a hat for Jack.

Also recognized with less potential embarrassment was Bob Bean for a new great grandchild.  (The Beans are Rotary's largest known tribe.)

Tony Amato had the winning ticket for the $100 prize but missed the riddle question about electric train smoke.

Just before the program began Jana Bogart was ejected from her chair when it slipped into the duct work.  The will be an OSHA review.  But no law suit because the Elks are even more non-profit than we are.

Chris Lowe introduced Don Means and Santana Gonzales from Chevron's land development division, who brought us up to date on the current plans for West Coyote Hills.  Chevron also contributed $1000 to our foundation, which helped keep us mighty attentive.  THANK YOU CHEVRON for the generous gift.

The project involves over 500 acres, 760 homes, a donated to the city fire station and 280 acres of open space.  On going maintenance funding will be provided for public areas including an improved nature preserve and 8 miles of trails.  Ridgelines and 6 key visits are to be preserved unobstructed by structures..

Attention to habitat, traffic and host of other factors seem likely to yield a community that might well appeal to even an ardent tree hugger.  The site might be ready for building by late 2004

Next week is the District Governors visit.-- Bill Mathy wants a standing ovation ...for the DG not Bill.
