Candidate for Fullerton School Board MINARD DUNCAN got into practice by leading us in the PLEDGE like he was already elected. He was backed by the Rotary Club Foursome plus One (Leroy, Bob, Bill, Jim and Don) in showing the visiting dignitaries the Club's choral talents.

It being the election season, KATHY ALLRED-BLAKE set forth some thoughts for the potential seeker of political office, viz.,

"Rule for All Politicians: When in doubt --MUMBLE When in trouble -- DELEGATE: "The short memories of the American voters are what keep incumbent politicians in office".

Another election candidate, wanna-be Fullerton Councilman CHUCK MUNSON announced the visitors and guests enjoining the brethren and sistern to follow former Prez RALPH PEASE' model in showing greater enthusiasm in recognizing them. Lots of Rotary dignitaries:

PROGRAM:

5320 District Governor Jim Parsons of Newport-Irvine briefed the activities and goals of regional, national and international Rotary. Much to be proud of in the growth and financial stabilty and growth of Rotary. Since 1985 when women were included, there are now 17,000 women in 2000 of the 30,000 World wide Rotary Clubs of a total membership of 1.23 million. MENTORING is the secret of recruiting and retaining membership. Jim has incorporated a staff element in this District's organization in this respect. The Rotary Club of Fullerton with its broad organization of involvment of its memberhsip sets a fine example. Jim went down the Four Way test as a model of how a club can be evaluated. This test could also be a guide in ETHICS for some of our national business leaders . It was clear to all our listening members that Jim has the right vision and goals as out District leader. He closed with a plea for all to support and apply for a California Rotary LICENSE PLATE. Excellent presentation.
