Volume 62, Issue 35

Written and reported by: Bill Schenk

Bill Schenk led the club in the pledge of allegiance after he reminded everyone to inspect their own American flags for wear and tear and retire their old flags with dignity.  The office of the Elks lodge receives old flags and will dispose of them properly in a flag retirement ceremony in June.

Jim Blackburn directed the song leaders, which included Howard Wood, Jim Young, Ray Ashcroft and Bill Peloquin, accompanied as always by Don Ludwig.

Jim Young delivered the thought for the day with an adage from his grandmother about the ability to recall words but not thoughts.

Howard Wood introduced no visiting Rotarians (not even Dick Boyle!).  There were, however several guest that include Dennis O’Conner (Creel), Leland Wilson (Dragos), Robert Bravo (Kawase), and Craig Walker who will be inducted into our club at the earliest opportunity (Meyer).

Larry Larson reminded everyone in the club to respond to the Fellowship dinner questionnaire that he recently mailed.

Bill Hite was lucky enough (?) to win the opportunity drawing, but was subjugated to the worst question in the history of opportunity drawings. Warren Wimer paid the consolation prize.
