President Bill Peloquin called upon Bob Savage to lead our group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by Mike Oates accompanying the Singing Wheels (Ray Ashcroft, Leroy Fulton, Bob Savage and Jim Young) as they sang a patriot song and our ever popular Smile.. With Valentinees Day coming on the heels of our meeting, Bob Clark, Jr. appropriately plugged the Sugar Plum Ball. The Thought for the Day was presented by Buck Catlin who shared his wifees rules for him adjusting to Mayorrs Life After Accident.. Do you remember when Buck injured his neck surfing several years ago and his wife and a friend pulled him out of the waters? He emphasized how much we should appreciate our wives, husbands, sweethearts or significant others. President Bill reported that the concert netted $25,565, and he introduced Allan Stark, District Governor Nominee for 2002-2003. Allan brought greetings from former Fullerton Rotarian Rich Templey who now lives in Salem. And as usual, Mike Oates serenaded us with wonderful selections on the piano as we garnered our lunch.

Question of the Week:
Daniel Kang won the raffle and collected $10, as he could not name the three presidents who lived to at least age 90. Who could? Would you believe the answer was given and I can only think of two - Presidents Hoover and Reagan
Birthdays:
Jim Blackburn recognized the birthdays of two young women - Rotarian Debra Koff and Ronnie Hewettts wife, Pamela.
Program:
The Half of Mid-Life Crisis Barbershop Quartet from the Orange Empire Chorus sang several songs and was joined by crooner Peloquin on one memorable melody. Fellow Rotarian and psychologist, Jo Ann Brannock, talked to us about love. One of the messages: Guys, give flowers. Girls, donnt try to change the men too much.
Jim Blackburn hosted the Newlywed Game, which was created by Chris Fraschetti and Debra Koff. Judges were Terri Grassi and Judy Pappe. Contestants Bobbie and Buck Catlin, Dottie and Jim Young, Wilma and Bill Peloquin, Carolyn and Pat Tormey, and Linda and Tom Meyer battled it out for top honors. Carolyn and Pat were runners-up. Linda and Tom took home the gold.
The program was concluded by Jim Young eloquently reading a poem of love.
