The meeting was called to order by President Bill Schenk who noted the meeting would dedicated to Bill McGarvey who left his earthly Rotarians last week. Red socks and other red regalia were worn by members in memory of the well honored Fullertonian.

Invocation was presented by Ken Kaisch who began his thoughts with a moment of silence for Bill and then remembered his generosity and the lives he touched in Fullerton – and of course is red socks.
Pledge: Marty Burbank which was fitting for the veteran focused program to come.
Song – Susan Smith led the club in a rendition of When Irish Eyes Are Smiling – again for Bill followed by Smile

President Schenk had the honor of presenting Paul Harris recognition – Chuck Munson, Paul Harris plus four; Jay Kremer, Ruby pin honoring him as Paul Harris plus six; Leslie McCarthy, also a Paul Harris plus six.

Program: Griff Duncan introduced his performers – Miles McAllister from Cal State Fullerton (trumpet), Kit Wilson and Leslie Tinnaro, both seasoned vocal performers. Miles performed Reveille which was dedicated to the soldiers who died prematurely. Griff scripted a marvelous tribute to all the veterans through the US history accompanied by poetry and song (complete with projected visuals) recognized the most popular songs beginning with the revolutionary war including Yankee Doodle, Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America, I’m Proud to be American (God Bless the USA), and more. The historical journey discussed the War of 1812, the Civil War-- recognized by a reading of the Gettysburg Address-- World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. The program ended with a standing ovation and Taps.
