Volume 74 Issue 22 Rota-Scribe: Wolf Knabe

Next Wednesday, December 17, Senior Christmas Party at Sunnycrest Senior Living.
Seniors will be arriving at 11:00am. Please come early.
No Meeting at Meridian Health Club next week.

The meeting started off by a prayer from Pastor Hickman, who also led our songs including “White Christmas” and “I wish you a Merry Christmas”.

President Bill proceeded to give the Rotarian of the Month to Vern Andrews, who definitely deserves the honor for all that he does for our club.

One of our members referred to our distinguished President as “Jolly Old St. Nick”. Come to think of it, I do recognize him coming around every year!

Ray proudly displays his Rotary Award

Ray Hanson was presented inducted into the “Hall of Fame” of Rotary International Heritage and History Fellowship. This is a rare award and Ray should be extremely proud of the honor. The fellowship was established 80 years ago to recognize outstanding Rotarians. One focus of the Fellowship is to maintain the Chicago home of Paul Harris. Ray is a multi-generational Rotarian with a 60 year history of perfect attendance. He has been a Rotarian for 57 years and a member of four clubs. In 1990-91 he was a founding member of the Fullerton Rotary Foundation and has been involvement with fundraising in his life totaling 50 million dollars!

Sadly Will Abbott will be resigning for our Rotary Club due to his recent promotion and moving to another area. Scott Dowds will be replacing him on the Board

The raffle was won by Don Bankhead but unfortunately he did not win the $58 prize.

Endowment Awards were given to:

• Acacia Elementary School – to enhance programs
• Troy High School – to purchase a Gator type vehicle for their athletic trainer
• Sunny Hills High School – for audio visual needs
• Women’s Transitional Living Center – for updating security equipment
• Fullerton Heritage – to rebuild the Santa Fe loading dock
• Coast to Coast – for miscellaneous programs for the needy
• Troy High School – Lee Brockett donated a trailer for the Football Booster Club

Our Foundation gave $14,000 to local causes.

Ron Stock led us in the Four-Way Test.

Vern Andrews thanked everyone for their donations to the Foundation and asked to keep up the good work!

That’s all for now!
