Opening Ceremonies
The meeting started with a thoughtful invocation by Ken Kaisch, followed by a formal flag ceremony by the color guard of the JROTC from Sunny Hills High School.
Duane Greenleaf led the Pledge of Allegiance. Song Leader of the Day, Kim Barlow led the assemblage in America the Beautiful.
Visitors
Diane Masseth-Jones called upon George Giokaris to introduce the new principal of Fullerton Union high school. Dean Heiser, esteemed member we have missed for awhile, now resides at Morningside and attended the meeting. Dean was lauded for his significant donations over the years. Hopefully Dean will again become really involved with the club.
Recognitions
FineMaster Bob Clark recognized Grif Duncan for 54 years of marriage bliss to the lovely and talented Jan. In absentia, Chuck Munson was recognized for Jolene's birthday and Marilyn Richards was recognized for her anniversary. Past Prez Roco who was in attendance, has an anniversary on the same day as Grif and is celebrating 37 years. Transitioning from milestone events to historical trivia, Bob had a number of difficult questions relating to special events that occurred on 11th day of September, other than 2001, throughout history. Nobody came close to getting them right so by the end of the recognition session Carl Camp, Pat McKinley, Rick Crane, Jim Blake, Chris Meyer and Drew Napolin all contributed to the kitty. Dean again got recognition in view of his move to Morningside and the fact that this is the officially proclaimed “assisted living week"

Get in touch with Zoot if you can assist.$ to Give Away. Vern Andrews wants to give away the Foundation’s money. He is looking to you for suggestions as to worthy recipients. At this point, you should immediately call Vern Andrews, coordinate with him and get the form filled in if you have a good candidate for charitable largesse.
Chow with your Rotarian Fellows. Sandy Hayes had her own official PR promoter in the persona of Greg Hickman to promote sign-ups for the fellowship lunches. 40 people signed up, and they want more to take advantage of this splendid opportunity to get to know others in the club on a more personal level.
Opportunity Drawing is $50+ and Growing
Don Bankhead was the losing winner, having pulled the King of Hearts instead of the elusive Joker. The pot grows.
Program
A fantastic inspirational American Celebration Medley, following a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner was provided by the Vocal Ensemble of Sunny Hills High School under the direction of the talented Matt Ringer.
