Kimberly Barlow couldn’t locate a winning ticket number holder but offered the question to the club at large. Bill Schenk immediately produced the winning answer but Prez J confiscated the prize.
Zoot Velasco introduced a lively program offered by Buddy Rodriguez and Eduardo Ramirez and the Monte Alban Grupo Folklorico. This group consists on School children from 4th grade through high school from the Richmond neighborhood in Fullerton. The troupe mesmerized the club with lively dance, and ballet steps and musical pieces from various regions and folk music genres of Mexico. Their beautiful costumes were homemade and hand painted. The highlight of the presentation happened when special guest performer Scott Dowds made a grand entrance to dance and sing special Mexican folk song in full caballero regalia with a silver laden sombrero and a pencil thin mustache to commemorate Cinco de Mayo. Scott twirled a Mexican lariat and the children encircled him in a grand finale. Grupo Folklorico Monte Alban con Señor Dowds will perform tonight at the Muck.
