Program

Today’s program was a real treat; Jim Young as Paul Harris.  Jim began introducing Paul Harris.  Paul was born in 1868 in Wisconsin and died in 1947.  Paul was raised by his grandparents and spent many a time in the “old wood shed”.  It seems Paul would do things that got him into trouble.  His grandparents stressed education and he graduated from the University of Iowa with a law degree.  After that he took a 5 year sabbatical.  Now we hear from Paul himself.  As a Rotary began certain things began to change.  Meetings were rotated at each member’s house and they began classification from each other.  The slogan is “Service Above Self”.  Rotary will change with times.  The first service project was public toilets in ChicagoJim Young did a wonderful program, one we all look forward to.

Jim Young, aka Paul Harris, inducted 2 new members: Larry Bennett and Jim Arabia.  Welcome to Rotary.

Ken Kaish auctioned off 4 Paul Harris tapes for his in memory fund for Ray Ashcroft’s son Mark  who passed away in Russia.  Thanks for all your support.

Closing Remarks:

“The worst thing that happens to you may be the best thing for you if you don’t let it get the best of you”- Will Rogens.
