Don Mlodzik opened the meeting with the pledge of allegiance followed by the Rotary singers leading the club in holiday song. Bill McGarvey introduced visiting Rotarians and guests: Rotarian Jim Roberts (past Prez of the Placentia Rotary club) and Randy McFarland and Alan Waterman (guests of Bill Mathy and Cameron McCune). * Alan Atwell reminds the club that December 10 is the Senior Christmas party and members should be at the meeting at 11:00 am to assist the guests from their transportation to the luncheon. Bring Polaroid cameras and film too. * Griff Duncan made another announcement about the availability or tickets to the Rich Little concert on January 31st. * Wally Bartelt announced last chance to buy tickets to the District Raffle the proceeds of which go to Rotary International. * Janie Noppe has tickets to Rotary Fellowship at the Harbor Cruise of Lights on December 19 for $12 each.
* Mike Oates announced that donations for thee Rotary Room at Hope University have reached $14,000 of the $25,000 target. |
* Mike brought up the need from the Boys and Girls Club that the Club's annual kids Christmas party is short gifts for the teens.The Boys & Girls Club is seeking funds to purchase small gifts for the teens to accommadate their wish lists - i.e., a CD, or a basketball, etc. Please send your small donation to the Club, or see Bob Jahncke or Fred Johnson. Finemaster Nate Kvetny recognized Pat Tormey, Al Tetreault, Bob Jahncke and John Kunau for various and unspecified events. Prez Bill recognized Alan Atwell as Rotarian of the Week for his work in coordinating the Senior Christmas Party. Lee Brocket solved Prez Bill's Riddle this week and won the grand prize. Program:
