Volume 65, Issue 1 Rota-Scribe: Bill Schenk

Prez Joyce made her first official directive and appointed Walt Barnes to lead our club in the pledge of allegiance. District Governor Bill Peloquin led song leaders Randy McFarland and Ray Ashcroft (accompanied by Don Ludwig) in a uniquely sounding version of our National Anthem, followed by Smile. Jim Young provided our thought for the day followed by an invocation.

After another delicious lunch and a lovely patriotic recital on the piano by Don Ludwig, Prez Joyce asked Craig Walker to introduce Visiting Rotarians and Guests:

Area Owen from Long Beach Rotary

Nigel Slater from Alice Springs, Australia

(Nigel met Fullerton Rotarian Walt Barnes at the Rotary International Convention in Chicago and invited him to attend our meeting during his mandatory pilgrimage to Disneyland.

Litay Brunner from Rodswell-Manila

Ernie Delphin from Cerritos

Ken Kaisch introduced Sergey Povarnitsyn from Moscow.

Rick Crane introduced Fullerton Chamber Executive Director Theresa Harvey

Les Christiansen introduce banker Peter Agawald

Rotarians with spouses included
Art Levine – Barbara
                                                Jack Hayes – Sandra
Jim Young  -- Dottie

Prez Joyce announced the inaugural of a new monthly Rotagram that will be delivered by mail.  This publication will have news and comments not covered in the weekly e-mailed editions for the Rotagram.

Bob Radde announced that the Sunny Hills High School Interact club would be holding a Car Wash at 3125 E. Orangethorpe, in Anaheim on Saturday.

Rick Crane distributed flyers for Fullerton Flyers Rotary Day at Goodwin Field on July 24 at 1:00 P.M.

Keith Mills presented Former Prez Bob Savage with a script of his latest show signed by all the cast members of that memorable play  “The Nooner Show” which opened (and Closed) recently in Four Points showroom in Fullerton.

Bob Clark Jr. gave a brilliant but incorrect guess to the raffle question of the week and was rewarded with a $10 consolation prize donated by Don Ludwig.

Fine and Recognition Chairman Jim Williams distributed envelopes containing registration instruction to become Rat-Line and Tattle-Tale to create a new concept in secret Rotary database development.  Jim suggests this registration be mandatory.

Jim also recognized Bob Savage and find him $7.00 for the seven District awards that Fullerton Rotary won during his tenure.

Don Bankhead was also recognized for celebrating his birthday on the Fourth of July (Don thank all for the lovely firework display)

Dr. Art Levine and wife Barbara hosted the first annual Fullerton Rotary History Jeopardy program.  It was a rousing success although next year Art might try to make the questions tougher as the eight teams that participated got each question correct leading to an eight way tie (Well, that’s the way I remember it, anyway).
